Sheepskin is an amazing natural material with self-cleaning properties. It is naturally anti-bacterial and water-repellent, meaning your FLATOUTbear does not need frequent washing and does not need to be washed before first use.

Please DO NOT put your FLATOUTbear in the washing machine (even on hand wash cycle).

Please DO NOT put your FLATOUTbear in the dryer, airdry only.

It may take a couple of days for your FLATOUTbear to dry naturally in the shade, so please be patient. Avoid using artificial heat or placing your bear in direct sunlight as this can shrink and/or harden the hide and reduce the soft, snuggliness of your FLATOUTbear.

Why are FLATOUTbears flat?

Besides being a family tradition, the main advantage of a flat bear is that they are super easy to snuggle and can be used like a pillow. Flat bears are also suitable for babies as they don’t have any protruding features. They make the perfect baby gift.

Are FLATOUTbears suitable for babies?

FLATOUTbears have been tested to meet Australian, NZ, USA, EU and UK children’s toy safety requirements (CE tested). We always recommend that you follow the SIDS guidelines and use a common sense approach when giving a FLATOUTbear to your child. For newborns, we recommend you put the FLATOUTbear under your baby’s head when changing them, have it close when feeding or use a little breast milk to help with attachment. FLATOUTbears make the perfect baby gift, baby shower gift or a baby’s first teddy bear.

Where are FLATOUTbears made?

FLATOUTbears are made in China from 100% Australian sheepskin. They have been working with the same family in China for more than 15 years, where the sheepskins that make FLATOUTbears are tanned, hand cut and sewn together before returning to their home in Australia where the FLATOUTbear team in Sydney inspect, groom and pack each bear ready to be sent to you, wherever you are in the world!
